Hey Gems! Welcome back to another natural hair blog post. Today’s post is going to be about how to achieve the perfect blowout hairstyle. This also features Revlon’s one-step hairdryer. All-natural girls know the struggling of maintaining their tresses. With that, there are lots of tries and errors when it comes to figuring out what your hair likes and what it cannot handle. However, as soon as you find that one style or method that your hair cooperates with, the journey doesn’t feel so bad. It feels like a tiny victory. So, here are my tips on how to achieve the perfect blowout hairstyle.
For me, that will be finding the right tool/s to achieve the perfect blowout hairstyle. It is not something I do often, maybe two to three times a year at the most. Additionally, this is my go style whenever I get bored with my coils but don’t necessarily want to straighten my hair. Especially, since heat is not our friend like that. Nonetheless, I always like to opt for a blowout hairstyle because it is just easier sometimes. I also love how versatile it is plus, it makes it easier to create other hairstyles if desired. Making it the perfect base for stretched styles without the maximum shrinkage. With a blowout, you can create effortless bantu knot outs, twist-outs, braids out, flat twist outs, or simply just wear it out. So! Without further ado, let’s get into the process.
Before your blowout
Follow these steps before blowing out your hair
- shampoo and clarify your hair
- deep condition
- light leave -in-conditioner
- heat protectant
- Detangle Detangle Detangle
These steps help with maintaining the health of your hair, during and after the blowout process. Clarifying eliminates build-up and oils while deep conditioning restores the PH and moisture balance in your hair. Next in line is a lightweight leave-in conditioner that adds moisture to the hair and a heat protectant to seal all that hard work in. This also acts as a protective barrier over your strands and reduces the impact of any damage your hot tools may cause. And lastly, detangle, detangle, detangle.
I work in sections, four to be exact. During these steps, I work in sections and make sure I am constantly either detangling my hair with my fingers or with a wide-tooth comb. These steps make the blow drying process much easier and allow us to achieve a smooth and softer finish. In turn, we keep heat damage, split ends, and dryness at bay.
Don’t be fooled by the look and texture of natural hair. It is actually very delicate and needs to treated with care.

The revlon one step hair dryer review
Before I found the Revlon one-step hairdryer, I used a blow-dryer with the comb attachment. The struggle with that is the comb always slips off, gets caught in my hair. And, I never get the smooth finish I love when I go to the salon. My ends always felt crunchy, which is no Bueno.
Further, as a type 4 girl, blowing out my hair is never an easy process. To that, my goal is to stretch my hair but still maintain a little bit of texture. Unless I am trying to straighten my hair, which is not often. With that said the Revlon one-step styler is a game-changer for natural girls and every texture in between. It comes with four settings. Off, Cool, Low or High. The styler claims to detangle, dry and smooth hair in half the time though, I will not suggest using this solely as your detangler.
More on my blowout process. I run the Revlon one-step styler through my section on the “Cool” setting until it’s dry. I then increase the setting to the “Low” to finish off that section. The brush/ paddle is large enough to cover a large section of hair, which cuts the drying process in half. Other benefits of this styler are its affordability, easy blowout process, work great on all hair types, and give a smooth and effortless finish.

All in all, would I recommend the Revlon one-step hair styler? the answer is YAS! For all the reasons previously mentioned.
Additionally tips: you can maintain your stretched style by moisturizing your hair with a thicker leave-in condition or butter, sealing with lightweight oil, and wrapping your hair before going to bed. A thick butter prevents your hair from reverting.
