Army pants, also known as military or cargo pants have become part of today’s fashion trend. Originally and still the standard dress code for people in the army was combat uniform. Camouflage is used as a shield of protection and to disguise one’s movement during combat. Is the Camouflage trend meant to blend in or stand out?
Today, it is a statement piece with the intent to stand out. While the real purpose of camouflage is to blend in with your surroundings. Hence, the different colors are used depending on the climate, the area, and the landscape. When it comes to fashion, the most common color we see is green. Because of its popularity, you might even own a piece or two somewhere in your closet.
The search for Desert Camouflage
Quite recently, there have been a few bright colors such as orange, purple, yellow, pink, black/white, and blues that have become very trendy.
I have always wanted a pair of army pants but wasn’t a big fan of the bright trendy looks. Like everyone else, I love the traditional army green print but wanted something a little different. So, I opted to hunt for a pair of desert camouflage pants. The problem is, they were not that easy to find.

In the process, I decided to check out the men’s section of different stores. Ladies, when it comes to shopping, don’t sleep in the men’s section. You can find some of your favorite pieces there. As for the size, you can either get your true size or a size down. I was extremely happy to find my desert camouflage pants, in the men section at simons.com. As far as the sizing for these pants, I purchased an XS. I could have still done with a men’s small since these pants are adjustable around the waist. It would have also fit slightly looser for a baggier look.
